Confirmed, the extraordinary Mexican drummer, arranger and composer, Antonio Sánchez, will attend the “Havana Rhythm and Dance Festival” 2018.
Antonio Sánchez, is an artist with a great career, who has taken him to the great stages of the world, he has played with Paquito D 'Rivera in the United Nations Orchestra (originally directed by Dizzy Gillepie), Danilo Perez, Pat Metheny Group, Michael Brecker, David Sanchez, Marcus Roberts, among many others.
Over the years he has become a sought-after session musician in severalRecording studios in the Massachusetts area, where he has provided his musical services to a wide variety of artists and producers. He has also had the privilege of performing alongside some of Boston's most renowned jazz musicians such as Gary Burton, Danilo Perez and Mick Goodrick.
Antonio Sánchez has given master classes in Europe, Japan, North and South America. He has also been awarded several awards such as "The Buddy Rich Memorial Scholarship", "The Zildjian Award", "The Boston Jazz Society Achievement Award"and "Berklee's Most Outstanding Performer Award".
Sánchez has been interviewed for specialized publications such as "Modern Drummer", "Downbeat", "Pro Musician" and "Berklee Today", as well as appearing in a wide variety of newspapers and magazines in various parts of the world. He has also held clinics and master classes around the world including the prestigious "Modern Drummer Festival Weekend 2003".
In 2014 Sánchez composed the soundtrack for the movie Birdman. The album was released on October 14, 2014. It earned him the Golden Globe nomination for "Best Original Soundtrack".
