Artex, the Province of Culture and the Government of the City, are pleased to invite you to the 19th Edition of the Havana International Rhythm and Dance Festival "Guillermo Barreto in Memoriam", which will be held from March 1st to 6th, 2022, at multiple places including: National Hotel of Cuba, Bethlehem Arch (Old Havana), Port Avenue Amphitheater , among others.
In line with the event, there will be new international competitions: Percussion, Casino-style dancing, and Rumba dancing.

The National Center for Cuban Popular Music is pleased to invite you to the 18th Edition of the Havana International Rhythm and Dance Festival “Guillermo Barreto in Memoriam”, which will be held from March 5th through 10th, 2019, at many places such as: Karl Marx Theater, Salón Rosado de La Tropical, Casa de la Música de Plaza, Palco Hotel, El Sauce Cultural Center, among others.
In line with the event, there will be three new contests: the international percussion contest, the Casino dance and for Rumba dance contests.
The Beat Music band drummer and leader, Mark Guiliana, will attend the 2019 Havana Rhythm and Dance Festival.
One of the world´s most famous and admired drummers, from jazz, rock and electronic music for its diversification and ingenuity in their creations. Mark Guiliana is also a composer, educator, producer and founder of Beat Music Productions.
During his musical career, Mark Guiliana has played along with several world-famous musicians such as: David Bowie, John Scofield, Avishai Cohen, Brad Mehldau, Meshell Ndegeocello, Gretchen Parlato, Jason Lindner, Lionel Loueke, Dhafer Youssef, Tigran Hamasyan, Matisyahu and The European Piano Trio Phronesis.
Confirmed, the extraordinary Mexican drummer, arranger and composer, Antonio Sánchez, will attend the “Havana Rhythm and Dance Festival” 2018.
Antonio Sánchez, is an artist with a great career, who has taken him to the great stages of the world, he has played with Paquito D 'Rivera in the United Nations Orchestra (originally directed by Dizzy Gillepie), Danilo Perez, Pat Metheny Group, Michael Brecker, David Sanchez, Marcus Roberts, among many others.
Over the years he has become a sought-after session musician in severalRecording studios in the Massachusetts area, where he has provided his musical services to a wide variety of artists and producers. He has also had the privilege of performing alongside some of Boston's most renowned jazz musicians such as Gary Burton, Danilo Perez and Mick Goodrick.
Confirmed, the great American singer Janis Siegel will participate in the “Havana Rhythm and Dance Festival” 2018. Over the past four and a half decades, the voice of Janis Siegel, a nine-time Grammy winner and a seventeen-time Grammy nominee, has been an undeniable force in The Manhattan Transfer’s diverse musical catalog. Alongside her career as a founding member of this musical institution, Siegel has also sustained a solo career that has spawned more than a half dozen finely-crafted solo albums and numerous collaborative projects, amassed a large international fan base and garnered consistently high critical praise.
Confirmed, Joao Donato, the extraordinary master composer of Bossa Nova and Latin Jazz and Brazilian pianist will attend the “Havana Rhythm and Dance Festival” 2018.
Joao Donato, the artist of countless famous songs like Bananeira, Amazonas and Grammy winner will delight us with his piano at the XVII edition of the Drum Festival. The teacher Donato is an authentic legend of the Bossa Nova and has composed songs with Antonio Carlos Jobim, Luis Gonzaga, Eumir Deodato, Segio Mendes, and Joao Gilberto among others.
Donato is an excellent trombonist pianist whose melodies have been sung all over the world.
